Internationally renowned filmmaker Mira Nair has begun work on her next project, a short film on AIDS.
Nair, who is currently in India to promote her latest movie The Namesake , has started shooting for her 21-minute movie ‘The Migration’.
The film is written by Farhan Akhtar’s sister Zoya Akhtar and stars Irrfan Khan , Shiney Ahuja , Raima Sen , Sameera Reddy and Vijay Raaz .
The movie’s shooting began early this week at Dharavi and will continue till mid-Feb. Even though it is a short film, Mira Nair says she is working as much hard on it as she does on any full-length feature film.
After this project, Nair will move on to her much-anticipated movie Shantaram , which will bring together Amitabh Bachchan and Hollywood star Johnny Depp on silver screen for the first time.
There is a possibility that some portions of ‘Shantaram’ may be shot at art director Nitin Desai’s studio in Karjat.
